Blackheath Golf Results - Wed 7th May to Sat 10th May
Blackheath Men…Wednesday 7th May saw the return of the popular Medley Midweek Single Stableford and 2BBB after the recent bout of rain.The winner of the Single event was Christo Macartney (9) with 36 points ahead of Nigel Erpic (8) with 35 points. The 2 Ball went to Paul Rowe (18) and Hamish Matthews (23) with 42 points. Nearest the pin on the Mount Wilson Silva Plana Strikers sponsored 5th went to Phil Colton at 550 cms and on the Tolhurst Family sponsored 17th hole to Kevin Tooke at 800 cms. Balls went to 32 points on a countback. Come along to the TOP golf course on the Mountains and join in the fun by calling Darrin or Jack on 47878406 and select option 2. Saturday 10th May…was the Mens May Medal and the Annual Royal Blackheath Day sponsored by Roger Sanderson and Jon Still which originally came about due the Blackheath Golf Club sending Food Packages to England during the dark years of World War 2 and Royal Blackheath Golf Club repaid the kindness by supplying trophies for an Annual golf event and the day has continued ever since creating this annual traditional golfing event. The Mens winner of the Medley event was long time member Kevin Tooke (28) with 37 points and the Lady winner was Bec Brown (22) with 37 points. The Hawkins/Sanderson trophy for the best 2 Ball Aggregate score went to Jean Simpson (35) and Rhonda Lonergan (28) with 72 points. The winner of the A grade Medal was Graham Dowdell (8) with nett 70.The B grade went to Barry Simpson (13) with nett 70 and the C grade went to John Hollis (19) with nett 75. Nearest the pin on the BJR Climbing Equipment sponsored 2nd hole failed to go off, the Park Street group sponsored 5th hole went to Ross Delaney at 172 cms, on the James Dakin sponsored 7th hole went to Tom Curtis at 70 cms, on the Tonkin Family sponsored 13th hole to Ossie Antaw at 26 cms, on the Brett Bond sponsored 14th hole to Blake Ranse at 319 cms and on the Chris and Keith Rhind sponsored 17th hole to Geoff Cope at 200 cms. Balls went to 35 points in the Stableford and to nett 73 on a countback in the Medal. Next Saturday the Men and Ladies play in the Medley Celtic Challenge 4BBB and Single Stableford sponsored by Ian Foulsham and Bull Son & Schmidt.The sponsors encourage the participants to dress with a Celtic flavour or your own National dress.Remember to book simply call Darrin or Jack on 47878406 and select option 2.
Blackheath Ladies…Thursday 8th May was Canadian Foursomes sponsored by Roula Gorey and Sonya Mills. The winners were Bec Brown and Carla Gilderdale playing off 22 and finishing with 79.3 nett ahead of Chris Rhind and Louise Aaron playing off 24 and finishing with 80 nett.Nearest the pin on the Paul Lonergan sponsored 2nd hole went to Bec Brown, on the 13th hole to Louise Aaron and on the 17th hole to Karen Tolhurst. Balls went to 81.4 nett. Next Thursday is Round 1 of the 2025 Ladies Championships with the second and final round on Thursday 15th May and on Saturday 17th the Ladies join the Men in the Medley Celtic Challenge.
