Blackheath Golf Results - Wed 7th Aug to Sat 10th Aug

Blackheath Ladies… Thursday 8th August was Ladies AGM day and the traditional Canadian Foursomes event was played sponsored by Maree Griffiths and Jenny O’Baugh. The winner were Rhonda Lonergan and Jean Simpson playing off 20 and finishing with 75.5 nett ahead of Carrie Soady and Di Pease playing off 18 and finishing with 79.4 nett. Nearest the pin on the Paul Loneragan sponsored 7th hole went to Yvonne Murray also picking up the Propin of $119, on the Tolhurst Family sponsored 13th hole to Mandy McAlister and on the 17th hole to Carrie Soady. Balls went to 81.8 nett. Next Thursday the Ladies play a Single Stableford sponsored by Kerry Wynne.Visitors are always welcome at the Mountain’s TOP course.

Saturday 10th August…was a stroke event for a Club Medal. The winner was Carrie Soady (27) with 72 nett on a countback from Rhonda Lonergan(25) also on 72 nett. The Scratch winner was Rhonda Lonergan with 97 off the stick and the Putting went to Di Pease with 30 putts. Nearest the pin on the Paul Loneragan sponsored 2nd hole went to Sarah Gardner, on the 13th hole to Chris Rhind and on the New Age Kitchen sponsored 17th hole to Carrie Soady. Balls went to 77 nett on a countback. Next Saturday the Ladies play a Single Stableford sponsored by Marilyn Rowe.

Blackheath Men…As the Club continues to provide golf each and every Sunday for Members and visitors alike on Sunday 5th the battle for the television continued with visitor Madeline Beard (19) taking the spoils with 40 points and keeping it in the family the runner up was  visitor Samantha Beard (28) with 37 points. Come and join in the fun with a 4 person Medley Ambrose played the last Sunday of the month for the ongoing Shipley Shield and a Single Stableford every other Sunday.

Friday 9th August…the usual FUN event to finish off the working week is played over 6 holes starting from 3.00 pm each Friday with all welcome to join in and then maybe stay for dinner and the evening Raffles. The event resulted in a SHOOTOUT in the Allen Family culminating in a victory for Mark taking home the spoils. To book a space just call Darrin or Jack on 47878406 and select option 2. Visitors are always welcome at the TOP course on the mountains.

Wednesday 7th August…was our usual Single Stableford and 2 Ball sponsored by Darrin’s Proshop. The winner of the Single event was John Wilson (27) while the 2 ball went to Mark Allen (10) and Ian Griffiths (11) with 45 points. Nearest the pin on the Mt Wilson Silva Plana Strikers sponsored 5th hole went to Shane Murphy at 194 cms and on the Steve Tolhurst sponsored 17th hole to the sponsor Steve Tolhurst. Balls went to 36 points. You are welcome to join us each Wednesday at the mountain’s TOP course by calling Darrin or Jack on 47878406 and select option 2.

Saturday 10th August…was a Medley Single Stableford and Team Stableford.The winner of the single event was Ian Foulsham (25) with 38 points on a countback from Todd Cleary (14) also on 38 points. The Team Stableford event went to that Fearless Foursome of John Holmes, Barry Simpson, Murray Mehrtens and Darrell Gawthorpe with 91 points. Nearest the pin on the BJR Climbing Equipment sponsored 2nd hole went to Mick Hillier at 284 cms, on the Parke Street Group sponsored 5th hole to Greg McDonald at 177 cms, on the James Dakin sponsored 7th hole to Michael Mole at 975 cms, on the Tonkin Family sponsored 13th hole to Luke Oldfield at 354 cms, on the unsponsored 14th hole to Carlos Donoso at 660 cms and on the Chris and Keith Rhind sponsored 17th hole to Jim Ballard at 220 cms. Balls went to 33 points on a countback. Next Saturday the Men play a Medley 4 Ball Stableford with a Single Stableford in conjunction at the top of the hill on the mountains TOP course.
