Australia Day 2025…was a 2BBB and single Stableford sponsored by Maree and Ian Griffiths who have kindly sponsored the event for over 20 years and we thank them for their ongoing support. The winners of the 2 Ball were Sam Gray (9) and Ryan Evans (22) with 48 points while the Single event was won by Archer Norman(15) with 39 points. The Ladies event went to Bec Brown (18) with 35 points. Nearest the pin on the 17th hole was won by Josh Quinn at 259 cms for the Men and by Suzie Singleton at 370 cms for the Ladies. Blackheath Men…Wednesday 29th January was our usual popular Medley Midweek Single Stableford and 2 Ball sponsored by Darrins Proshop.The winner of the single event was Darrell Gawthorpe (16) with 39 points ahead of Todd Cleary (12) with 36 points on a countback. The 2 Ball went to Kit Newcombe (5) and Rebecca Larkin (23) with a score of 43 points. Nearest the pin on the Mount Wilson Silva Plana Strikers sponsored 5th hole went to Barry Simpson at 356 cms and on the Steve Tolhurst sponsored 17th hole to Andy Lavis at 360 cms. Balls went to 33 points. Don’t forget if you’d like to join in the fun at the Mountains TOP course simply call Darrin or Jack on 47878406 and select option 2. Visitors are always made welcome to experience the top course on the top of the mountains.
Saturday 1st February… was a Stroke event for the February Medal and the Gold Medal playoff generously sponsored by Greg MacDonald. The winner of the Gold Medal was Bill Oldfield (2) with 71 nett. The winner of the A grade February Medal was Al Campbell (12) with 69 nett, the B grade Medal went to James Dakin(16) with 73 nett and the C grade went to Ian Foulsham (24) with 78 nett. The Single Stableford in conjunction went to Sean Sweeney (27) with 38 points. Nearest the pin on the BJR Climbing Equipment sponsored 2nd hole went to Paul Thomas at 206 cms, on the Parke street Group sponsored 5th hole to Brad Howell at 48 cms, on the James Dakin sponsored 7th hole to Mani Hitchenson at 395 cms, on the Tonkin Family sponsored 13th hole to Jim O’Keeffe at 120 cms, on the Brett Bond sponsored 14th hole to Al Campbell at 800 cms and on the Chris and Keith Rhind sponsored 17th hole to Henry Herron at 700 cms. Balls went to 74 nett on a countback. Next Thursday is the Ladies Opening Day sponsored by Ron Alexander in memory of Desley Alexander so support the day and get back into the swing of weekly competition golf. Next Saturday the Men play a Medley 2 Ball Aggregate Stableford and Single Stableford in conjunction generously sponsored by Cormac Miller and the Ladies have a Single Stableford generously sponsored by Yvonne Murray.
