Blackheath Golf Results - Wed 26th Feb to Sat 1st Mar
Blackheath Men…Wednesday 26th February was our usual popular Medley Midweek Single Stableford and 2 Ball and round 4 of the Midweek Single Stableford Championship sponsored by Darrins Proshop.The winner of the weekly single event was Andy Lavis (22) with 38 points while the 2 Ball went to Henry Herron (20) and Jim O’Keeffe (7) with 46 points. Nearest the pin on the Mount Wilson Silva Plana Strikers sponsored 5th hole went to Cormac Miller at 590 cms and on the Steve Tolhurst sponsored 17th hole to Paul Thomas at 76 cms. Balls went to 36 points on a countback. The winner of the Midweek Stableford Championship and successfully defending his victory from last year was Josh Thomas with 109 points with Greg McDonald coming in second a point back with 108 points. Saturday 1st March… was a Stroke event for the March Medal with a Single Stableford in conjunction.The winner of the A Grade Medal was local Junior Tom Curtis (8) with 66 nett, the B grade resulted in a tied score necessitating a playoff in next months Medal between Michael Mole (13) and Geoff Cope (18) both finishing with 69 nett and the C grade went to Craig McLaughlin (20) with 63 nett. The Single Stableford went to Garry Ward (15).Nearest the pin on the BJR Climbing Equipment sponsored 2nd hole went to Ian Griffiths at 342 cms, on the Park Street Group sponsored 5th hole to Christo Macartney at 378 cms, on the James Dakin sponsored 7th hole to Josh Schroder at 128 cms, on the Tonkin Family sponsored 13th hole Christo Macartney at 190 cms, on the Brett Bond sponsored 14th hole to Ted griffin at 340 cms and on the Chris and Keith Rhind sponsored 17th hole to Christo Macartney at 208 cms…Well played Christo !! Balls in the Medal went to 70 nett and to 37 points in the Stableford. Next Saturday is a Medley Single Stableford and 2 Ball generously sponsored by Grant and Belinda Norman’s Handcrafted Meals with a $100 Meal voucher being presented at the afternoon presentation by way of a card draw from the day’s field.
Blackheath Ladies…Thursday 27th February was a Single Stableford sponsored by Trish Honeysett. The winner was Margaret Booth (16) with 33 points ahead of Rhonda Lonergan (26) with 30 points. Nearest the pin on the 5th hole went to Margaret Booth, on the Paul Loneragan sponsored 17th hole to Rhonda Lonergan and on the Tolhurst Family sponsored 13th hole to Dorelle Pinch.Balls went to 26 points.The Ladies welcomed visitors from Northbridge. Next Thursday the Ladies play a Par event sponsored by Ann Morris.

The Scratch winner was again Carrie Soady with 100 on a countback and the Putting went to Rhonda Lonergan with 29 putts. Nearest the pin on the Paul Loneragan 7th hole went to Jean Simpson, on the Tolhurst Family sponsored 13th hole to Rebecca Brown and on the 17th hole to Jean Simpson. Balls went to 80 nett. Next Saturday the Ladies join the Gents in the Grant and Belinda Norman’s Handcrafted Meals sponsored Single Stableford and 2 Ball and don’t forget a $100 meal voucher is being drawn at the afternoons presentation by way of a card draw from the days field.
