The month of OCTOBER will mark our 100th Birthday and also marks some huge events such as the Ladies Classic in the middle of the month with some spots still available, the Legends Pro-Am on Friday 25th with some spots also still available by calling Darrin or Jack on 47878406 and select option 2. The Blackheath Centenary Tournament on Saturday 19th with entertainment in the evening by Bonnie Doon and there is also the Jack Burrows Centenary tournament including the awarding of the Jack Burrows Medal generously sponsored by the Holmes and Burrows Families.

Blackheath Men…Wednesday 25th September was our usual Highly popular Medley Single Stableford and 2 Ball sponsored by Darrins Proshop. The winner of the Single event was Ross Delaney (14) with 41 points ahead of William Elliot (16) on 38 points on a countback while the 2 Ball went to the Super Dynamic Duo of Barry Simpson (13) and John Holmes (24) with 47 points. Nearest the pin on the Mt Wilson Silva Plana Strikers sponsored 5th hole went to Howard Shaw at 470 cms and on the Steve Tolhurst sponsored 17th hole to Gerhard Rungwerth at 279 cms. Balls went to 33 points on a countback. Remember if you’d like to join in at the Mountains TOP course just call Darrin or Jack on 47878406 and select option 2. Visors are always welcomed at Blackheath where we turn 100 years old in a couple of weeks.

Saturday 28th September…was our Annual Spring Cup which has been played for continuously since the 1920 and now generously sponsored by Mike Gregg and Martin Green and is a round of the 4 Seasons Vivaldi Cup. The winner of the Spring Cup was Ben Oldfield (9) with 64 nett ahead of Bill Oldfield (2) with 67 nett in 3rd spot was Carlos Donoso (15) with 70 nett and in 4th spot was Todd Cleary (13) with 71 nett on a countback. The Single Stableford went to Jim Ballard (4) with 38 points. Nearest the pin on the BJR Climbing Equipment sponsored 2nd hole went to Geoff Hull at 703 cms, on the Parke Street Group sponsored 5th hole to Bill Oldfield at 342 cms, on the James Dakin sponsored 7th hole to Christo Macartney at 370 cms, on the Tonkin Family sponsored 13th hole to John Nankervis at 93 cms, on the unsponsored 14th hole to Jim Ballard at 350 cms and on the Chris and Keith Rhind sponsored 17th hole to Josh Thomas at 92 cms. Balls went to 72 nett on a countback.
