Blackheath Golf Results - Wed 24th to Sat 27th Jan
Blackheath Men…Wednesday 24th January was our usual medley single Stableford and 2BBB sponsored by the Proshop. The winner of the single event was Tom Hitchenson (19) with 36 points while the 2 Ball went to Patrick Morgan(18) and Howard Shaw (23) with 43 points on a countback. Nearest the pin on the Mt Wilson Silva Plana Strikers sponsored 5th hole went to John Hollis at 690 cms and on the Steve Tolhurst sponsored 17th hole to Stephen Caswell at 179 cms. Balls went to 33 points on a countback. Remember if you’d like to join us each Wednesday just call Darrin or Jack on 47878406 and select option 2.
Australia Day…Friday 26th January was the Annual Australia Day Medley Single Stableford and 2 BBB which has been generously sponsored by Ian and Maree Griffith for many years. The winner of the single event was Shannon Foley (20) with 37 points on a countback. The 2 Ball went to David Cuneen (24) and Celine Galvin (25) with 45 points ahead of Corey Oldfield (6) and Luke Oldfield (11) with 43 points. Nearest the pin on the 17th hole went to Etsuko Saxton at 349 cms and balls went to 29 points.
Saturday 27th January…was the Men’s Summer Cup and the first round of the 4 Seasons Vivaldi Cup sponsored by Michael Gregg and Martin Green.The weather conditions didn’t bode well for a day of spectacular scoring but the Cup was won with a great scratch score of -3 by Jim O’Keefe (6). The Par event went to Alex Halliday (17) with +3. Nearest the pin on the BJR Climbing Equipment sponsored 2nd hole went to Kit Newcombe at 260 cms, on the Parke Street group sponsored 5th hole to Jim O’Keefe at 55 cms, on the James Dakin sponsored 7th hole again to Jim O’Keefe at 175 cms, on the Tonkin Family sponsored 13th hole to Rodney Tubbs at 190 cms, on the unsponsored 14th hole to Mani Hitchenson at 190 cms and on the unsponsored 17th hole to Alex Halliday at 250 cms. Balls went to +2. Next Thursday the Ladies resume their official competition with a Single Stableford sponsored by Ron Alexander in memory of his late wife Desley Alexander and on Saturday a Par event sponsored by Carrie Soady.On Saturday the Men play a Stroke event for the February Medal with a Single Stableford in conjunction.Remember visitors are always welcome you simply need to have a Golf Australia handicap to participate.
