Blackheath Golf Results - Wed 16th Oct to Sat 19th Oct
Blackheath Men…Saturday 19th October was our Celebration Centenary Tournament. The winner of the Single event was Ted Griffin (15) with a great round of 44 points ahead of Ossie Antaw (8) with 40 points. The Teams winners were William Elliot (16) and Shae Elliot (42) with 48 points ahead of Tom Hitchenson (23) and Kit Newcombe (5) with 47 points on a countback. Nearest the pin on the BJR Climbing Equipment sponsored 2nd hole went to Tom Hitchenson at 301 cms, on the Parke street Group sponsored 5th hole to Ian Tonkin at 322 cms, on the James Dakin sponsored 7th hole to Al Campbell at 338 cms, on the Tonkin Family sponsored 13th hole to Brad Pidgeon at 277 cms, on the unsponsored 14th hole to Steve Tolhurst at 250 cms and on the Chris and Keith Rhind sponsored 17th hole to Ossie Antaw at 118 cms. Balls went to 35 points on a countback. Blackheath Ladies…Wednesday 16th October was Day 1 of the Annual Ladies Blackheath Classic. The winner of Division 1 was Leura visitor T.McMahon (17) with 37 points on a countback from Lynwood visitor E.Merlino (21) also on 37 points. Division 2 went to a Blackheath member, A.McAlister (27) with 41 points ahead of Lynwood visitor M.Selby (27) with 39 points while Division 3 went to another Lynwood visitor in S.Chitty (39) with 32 points ahead of Karella visitor J.Liver (40) with 31 points. Nearest the pin in division 1 went to T.McMahon on the 7th hole, in division 2 to C.Amnery on the 2nd hole and S.Savage on the 17th hole and in division 3 to E.Saxton on the 13th hole. The straightest drive went to Karella visitor, Di Stewart.
Thursday 17th October…was Day 2 of the Blackheath Ladies Classic played as a Florida Scramble. The winning team hailed from Lynwood and comprised..F.Mildren, J.Smith, A.Ryder and J.Smith playing off 12.25 and finishing with 60.25 ahead of the Oberon team of Graham, S.Webb, R.Stapleton and R.Slattery playing off 10.5 and finishing with 62.5. Nearest the pin on the 2nd went to Northbridge visitor C.Livvard, on the 7th hole to Oberon visitor K.Graham, on the 13th hole to Lynwood visitor L.Gowan, on the 14th hole to another Oberon lady in S.Webb and on the 17th hole to Northbridge visitor M.McLean. The Straightest drive went to Woolaware visitor K.Branch.
Saturday 19th October…was a Canadian Foursomes sponsored by Al Campbell. The winners were Rebecca Brown and Marilyn Rowe playing off 20 and finishing with 76.8 ahead of Di Pease and Carrie Soady also playing off 20 and finishing with 78.5. Nearest the pin on the Paul Loneragan sponsored 13th hole went to Sonya Mills, on the 2nd hole to Carrie Soady and on the New Age Kitchen sponsored 17th hole to Chris Rhind. Balls went to 83.5 nett and we welcomed a visitor from the Ridge…Debbie McGregor.
Next Thursday the Ladies play a Stroke event for a Club Medal and Rd 6 of the WGNSW Medal and Rd 6 of the Roy Smith Memorial Bowl and on Saturday join the Men in the Jack Burrows Centenary Rhododendren Classic 2 person Multiplier. Visitors are always welcome at Blackheath golf and Community Club the TOP course on the Mountains.
