Blackheath Golf Results - Wed 15th May to Sat 18th May

Blackheath Ladies…Thursday 16th May was Round 1 of the Ladies 2024 Championships. The winner of the round was Louise Stevenson (8) with a fine 73 nett ahead of Margaret Booth (15) with 75 nett. The days Scratch winner was Louise Stevenson with 81 and the winner of the Putting was Jean Simpson with 30 putts. Nearest the pin on the Paul Loneragan sponsored 2nd hole went to Rebecca Brown, on the 5th hole to Louise Stevenson and on the Tolhurst Family sponsored 13th hole to Lynne Pressley. Balls went to 83 nett. Next Thursday the ladies play a Single Stableford .

Saturday 18th May…was a Single Stableford sponsored by Jean Simpson. On our coldest day of the year to date the winner who braved the conditions was Sarah Gardner (21) with 32 points ahead of Rebecca Brown (23) with 27 points. Nearest the pin on the Paul Loneragan sponsored 5th hole went to Ros Allen, on the 13th hole to Di Pease and on the New Age Kitchen sponsored 17th hole to Rebecca Brown. Balls went to 26 points. Next Saturday the Ladies play a Single Stableford sponsored by Kerry Wynne.

Blackheath Men…Saturday 18th March was Round 1 of the Men’s 2024 Foursomes Championships. Leading the field are the dynamic duo of Barry Simpson and Darrell Gawthorpe playing off 12.5 and finishing with 70.5 nett The Scratch leaders are Mark Allen and Al Campbell with 82 on a countback.The winner of the Single Stableford in conjunction provided for those who wish to retain their friendships was Todd Cleary (16) with 38 points on a countback from Michael Unsworth (12) also on 38 points. Nearest the pin on the BJR Climbing Equipment sponsored 2nd hole went to Alex Halliday at 322 cms, on the Parke Street Group sponsored 5th hole to Ross Delaney at 440 cms, on the James Dakin sponsored 7th hole to Mick Hillier at 540 cms, on the Tonkin Family sponsored 13th hole to Todd Cleary at 112 cms,on the unsponsored 14th hole to Bill Oldfield at 198 cms and on the Keith and Chris Rhind sponsored 17th hole to Steve Caswell at 283 cms. Balls went to 70.5 in the Foursomes and to 33 points in the Stableford. Next Saturday is Round 2 of the Foursomes Championships and a Single Stableford for others.

Wednesday 15th May…was our usual Medley Single Stableford and 2 BBB sponsored by the Proshop. The winner of the Single event was South coast visitor and previous local member…Gary Lenson (8) with 37 points ahead of Ross Delaney (13) with 35 points.Nearest the pin on the Mt Wilson Silva Plana Strikers sponsored 5th hole failed to go off and on the Steve Tolhurst sponsored 17th hole to Ross Delaney at 180 cms. Balls went to 33 points. Remember all are welcome and you can book a spot by calling Darrin or Jack on 47878406 and select option 2.
