Blackheath Golf Results - Wed 12th Mar to Sat 15th Mar

Blackheath Men…Wednesday 12th March was our usual popular Medley Midweek Single Stableford and 2 Ball sponsored by Darrins Proshop. The winner in a reduced field due to the weather gods intervening was Todd Cleary(12)  with 38 points ahead of Karl Munchow (14) with 37 points.Due to the smaller then usual field there was no 2 Ball this week.  Nearest the pin on the Steve Tolhurst sponsored 17th hole went to Mick Ashford at 512 cms and balls went to 35 points on a countback. You can join us each and every Wednesday at the Mountain’s TOP course by calling Darrin or Jack on 47878406 and select option 2 and visitors are always welcome to participate in any of our weekly events.

Saturday 15th March…was Round 1 of the Mixed Foursomes Championships with Round 2 being played next Saturday. The winners of the Day 1 Handicap event were Carla Gilderdale and Tom West (27.5) finishing with nett 66.5 ahead of Chris Rhind and Jim O’Keeffe (16.5) with nett 67.5. The Single Stableford in conjunction went to Corey Oldfield (5) with 42 points ahead of Brad Pidgeon(8) with 40 points. The winner of the Ladies event was Di Pease (27) with 35 points. Nearest the pin on the BJR Climbing Equipment sponsored 2nd hole went to Josh Thomas at 158 cms, on the Park Street group sponsored 5th hole to Ben Oldfield at 340 cms, on the James Dakin sponsored 7th hole to Geoff Hull at 364 cms, on the Tonkin Family sponsored 13th hole to Rod Craig at 127 cms, on the Brett Bond sponsored 14th hole to Corey Oldfield at 116 cms and on the Chris and Keith Rhind sponsored 17th hole to Cormac Miller at 66 cms. Balls went to 37 points in the Stableford and to 68 nett in the Foursomes. Next Saturday is Round 2 of the Mixed Foursomes and a Single Stableford for those not wishing to play in the Foursomes.

Blackheath Ladies…Thursday 13th March was a Single Stableford sponsored by Sarah Gardner. The winner was Sarah Gardner (24) with 38 points ahead of Carla Gilderdale (41) with 35 points. Nearest the pin on the 5th hole went to Di Pease, on the Tolhurst Family sponsored 13th hole to Sarah Gardner and on the Paul Loneragan sponsored 17th hole to Karen Tolhurst. Balls went to 27 points. Next Thursday the Ladies play a 2 Person Ambrose  sponsored by Judy Greive. and on Saturday join the Gents in Round 2 of the Mixed Foursome Championships. Remember visitors are always welcome at the Mountains TOP course.

Friday 14th March…Blackheath hosted the second round of the Seniors Order of Merit event in conjunction with Wentworth Falls Country Club with the following results. The Daily Scratch runner up at the Blackheath event was Andy Hugill with 69 off the stick. The Daily Handicap Runner Up was John Hogan with 66 nett. The Daily Super Seniors Scratch Runner Up was Hylton Henry with 77 off the stick and the Daily Super Seniors Handicap Runner Up was Phil Beale with 68 nett. The Daily Scratch winner was Rod Moran with 68 off the stick while the Daily Handicap winner was Colin Stockley with 66 nett. The Daily Super Seniors Scratch winner was Ward Hummerston with 73 off the stick while the Daily Super Seniors Handicap winner was Ian Cowper with 68 nett on a countback. Nearest the pin on the 17th went to Taichi IshiKawa.Along with Wentworth Falls Country Club the 2 Day Scratch winner was Rod Moran with 142 off the stick while the 2 Day Handicap winner was Colin Stockley with 134 nett. The 2 Day Super Seniors Scratch winner was Jim O’Keeffe with 156 off the stick while the 2 Day Super Seniors Handicap winner was Ward Hummerston with 145 nett.
