BLACKHEATH MEN

Wednesday 31st January was our monthly Tiger Tee Single Stableford and 2BBB with $200 in prizes. Paul Rowe won the Single Stableford with 39 points from a 16 hcp. Joe Landsberg (11) came runner-up with 38 points. This equates to 9 over our par of 69, so at age 79, Joe has beaten his age. Only exceptional golfers are capable of this feat. Joe combined well with Garry Way (19) to win the 2BBB with 45 CB points. Balls went to 36 points. NTP awards went to Stuart Brown on the 5th (4234cm) and Luke Skinner on the 17th (305cm).

On Saturday 3rd December, Dave Hall of Blackheath Plumbing and Drainage sponsored our Monthly Medal. We also ran a White Course Single Stableford. Andrew Lawson (7) won the Monthly Medal with a nett score of 64. Barry Simpson (8) came second with nett 66. The scratch event was Andrew’s (71), as was a new pair of golf shoes. Single Stableford winner was Richard Soady (24) 36 over Pat Kenny (18) 35. Balls went to 71 nett in the Monthly Medal and to 35 points in the single Stableford.

A rare “albatross” (3 under par) was almost witnessed on our par 5 4th, when Paul Sebben’s second shot lipped out. Ray Hawkins was on the green, and says it should have gone in. Paul completed the job of scoring a mere eagle.

Saturday's Nearest the Pins awards and the NTP sponsors are as follows. 2nd hole sponsored by Blue Mountains Plantation Shutters and Cabinet Making, John Bromhead 55cm. 5th hole sponsored by Office Choice Blue Mountains, Andrew Lawson 238cm. 7th hole sponsored by Paul and Gabrielle Loneragan, Roger Saxton 189cm. 13th hole, sponsored by Blue Mountain Escapes, Sam Gray 245cm. 14th hole, Mick Hillier 264cm. 17th hole, sponsored by Ben Cameron, Steve Rabone 172cm, The 17th hole Pro-Pin was not won, so jackpots into next week.
