Blackheath Golf Results - 30th May to 2nd June 2018
Thursday 31st May was a Single Stableford sponsored by Yvonne Murray. Masterful Mandy McAlister (29) negotiated the course 7 points clear of the field. Barbara Wall (19) came second with 30 points. Balls went to 25 points OCB, and that included Mandy And Barbara, Yvonne Murray, ???J Wild, Carrie Soady, Sandra Draper, Louise Aaron and Ro Perry. The 5th hole NTP was not won.
Saturday 2nd June was a Stroke Event incorporating the Club Medal, GNSW Medal round 4 and the Vets Country Championship. Ro Perry (24), with nett 79 won a tightly contested affair OCB over Di Landsberg (27). These two mopped-up. Ro had the best scratch score (103) while Di won the putting competition with 31 putts. Balls went to nett 81, including Sandra Draper, Rebecca Brown and Marie Griffiths. Nearest the Pin on the 17th hole was won by Roz Starkey.
Wednesday 30th May was our Tiger Tee Single Stableford and 4BBB for prizemoney exceeding $300! The weather was cold but dry. The Singles winner was Steve Tolhurst (10) with 36 points OCB over Joe Landsberg (11). Andrew Price (22) and Peter Bamford (13) scored 40 points to win the 4B OCB over Steves Tolhurst and Rabone (10). Balls went to 36 points. Nearest-the-Pin winners were Steve Rabone on the 2nd (100cm) and Stuart Brown on the17th.
Saturday 2nd June was the Monthly Medal and Gold Medal Playoff. We ran a White Dome Single Stableford as well. Ken Scully sponsored the day. The Monthly Medal and best nett score was won by Mick Campbell (12, 63) ahead of Kit Newcombe (8, 65). Jack Walden (+1) won the Best Scratch Score) (71). The Single Stableford winner was Phillip Miller (25, 39) over Graham Jones (21, 35). The Gold Medal Playoff went to Phil Binskin on walkover, since Paul Rowe could not attend. Balls went to 35 Stableford points or nett 70 in the stroke event. The Nearest-the-Pin winner on the second (sponsor: Blue Mountains Plantation Shutters & Cabinet Making) was Graham Jones (150cm). On the 5th (Office Choice Blue Mountains) was our event sponsor, Ken Scully (261cm). On the 7th (Paul & Gabrielle Loneragan’s hole) Greg Nankervis’ shot was a long way from the pin (9 metres) but was close enough. On the 13th (Blue Mountains Escapes), Darrell Gawthorpe (380cm), on the 14th, John Holmes (734cm) and on Ben Cameron's 17th hole, Phil Binskin won with a shot 215cm from the hole.
