Blackheath Golf Results - 29th August to 1st September 2018
Thursday 30th August was a Single Stableford sponsored by Jean Simpson. The winner was Di Pease (23) with 35 points. Runner up was Rhonda Lonergan (23) with 34. The Women’s Nearest-the-Pin on the 2nd was won by Di Landsberg. Balls went to 30 OCB and included Di, Rhonda, Carrie Soady, Sue Still!, Joan Aitken, A. Morris, Di Landsberg, Maree Griffiths and Trish Honeysett.
Saturday 1st September was a Stroke round for the Club Medal and Round 6 of WGNSW. The winner was Louise Stevenson (7) 73 over Rebecca Brown (39) 74. Chris Rhind won the 2nd while Di Landsberg win the 13th Vegie Patch Nearest-the-Pin. Balls went to 77 and included Louise, Rebecca, Carrie Soady, Ros Starkey, Sandra Draper, Di Pease, Louise Robinson and Chris Rhind.
Wednesday 29th August was our Tiger Tee Day that is held at the end of each month and has $300 in prizes. The day runes a Single Stableford and 2BBB. This week Ian Evans (7) won with 37 points OCB over Trevor Thomas (7) 37. The 2BBB winners were Dave Birrell (18) and Ian with 42 points over Peter Messer (15) and Trevor also on 42. Balls went to 36. Nearest-the Pin prizes went to Ian Evans on the 2nd (450cm) and Roger Pierce on the 17th (233cm).
Saturday 1st September was our Monthly Medal combined with our Spring Cup which dates back to 1924. The Spring Cup is the last event of our Four Seasons Cup (Vivaldi), so, it too was decided on the day. In addition, we also ran a White Course Single Stableford. The weather was windy and trying. The winner of our Four Seasons Cup was Peter Johnston whose 19 points beat Jack Walden (18) and Shane Murphy (17). The monthly Medal and Spring Cup winner was Kevin Pidgeon (13) 68. Ben Cameron came 2nd (11,70) and Jon Still 3rd (20) 71. Best scratch was Ian Evans (78). The Best Front 9 went to Graham Dowdell (9, 33.5) and the Best Back 9 to Brett Scanlon (11,33.5). Greg Nankervis won the Single Stableford (24,42) with runner-up Graham Jones (20, 36). Balls went to 72 OCB and 35. The Nearest-the-Pin winner on the second (sponsor: Blue Mountains Plantation Shutters & Cabinet Making) was Rob Thompson (340cm). On the 5th (LEADING EDGE COMPUTERS Katoomba) it was Andrew Lawson (181cm). Greg Nankervis won the SiLLYMiLLY Kid’s Clothing 7th hole (145cm). On the 13th (Blue Mountains Escapes) Ben Cameron got to 179cm. No-one managed the dance-floor on the 14th. On the 17th, Ben Cameron’s hole, Rob Thompson hit it to 133cm and also won the $165 pro-pin.
Steve Caswell (16) won the Friday 9-hole comp with 21 points. This comp is a MEDLEY (men and women), with an entrance fee of $5 (plus green fees which are $0 for members). To play, all you need is a marker. Our Pro-Shop can organise you into a game.
