Blackheath Golf Results - 27th June to 30th June 2018
Thursday 28thJune was miserable and wet. Enough said.
Saturday 30th June was not wet. It was very windy. The event was a Single Stableford sponsored by Roz Starkey. Sandra Draper did not exactly master the conditions, but did enough to win. Her 27 off 27 handicap trumped Yvonne Murray’s 25 off 27. Nearest the Pin on the 2nd was won by Cindy Fitzgerald while Sandra won the Blackheath Vegie Patch-sponsored 13th. Balls went to Sandra, Yvonne, Cindy and Rebecca Brown.
Wednesday 27th June was our Tiger Tee Single Stableford and 2BBB for prizemoney exceeding $250.The Singles winner was Garry Way (19) with 43 points. Runner-up was John Holmes (16) with 41. Garry and Rob Dempsey (10) won the 2BBB with 47 points over Mick Lonergan (17) and John Holmes with 44. Balls went to 36 points. Nearest-the-Pins were won by Michael Mole at the 2nd (124cm) and Darrell Gawthorpe at the 17th (292cm).
Saturday 30th June was our Winter Cup, the third of four rounds of the Four Seasons Cup (Vivaldi). This was a Single Stableford off our White Course with prizemoney of $500. The wind was strong and gusting, so breaking 30 points was an effort. The winner was Peter Johnston (30) with 37 points. 2nd was Stuart Brown (11) with 36, 3rd was Rodney James (22) 35 and 4th was Graham Phillips (15) 35. Best Front Nine went to Jim Robertson (22) 21 and the Best Back 9 to Phillip Miller (24) 18. Best Scratch score was Jack Walden (+1) 33 points and the Best 4 Consecutive Holes was won by David Pope with 11 points. Balls went to 33 points OCB. The Nearest-the-Pin winner on the second (sponsor: Blue Mountains Plantation Shutters & Cabinet Making) was Dave Pope (400cm). On the 5th(Office Choice Blue Mountains) was Jack Walden (327cm). On the 7th (SiLLYMiLLY Kid’s Clothing) Jack won again with a shot to 497cm. On the 13th (Blue Mountains Escapes) Trevor Thomas (375cm) won. On the 14th it was John Bromhead (181cm). On the 17th, Ben Cameron’s hole, Stu Brown hit to within 134cm and not only won the NTP, but also the Pro-Pin ($160).
On Friday 29th June our 9-hole Single Stableford Comp that runs all day was won by Michael Mole with 17 points OCB over Wally Sheil and Matt Brogue. This comp is a winner-takes-all with an entrance fee of $5 (plus green fees which are $0 for members). To play, all you need is a marker. Our Pro-Shop can organise you into a game.
