Blackheath Golf Results - 23rd May to 26th May 2018
Thursday 24th May was a Stroke event and also round 3 of the WGNSW Medal. Ro Perry (25) won with a score of 70 over Yvonne Murray (26) 73. Nearest-the-Pin on the Blackheath "Vegie Patch"-sponsored 13th Hole was won by Ro Perry. Balls went to Ro, Yvonne, Sandra Draper, Karen Tolhurst and Chris Rhind.
Wednesday 23rd May was our usual Single Stableford and 4BBB for prizemoney exceeding $160.The Singles winner was Greg McDonald (22) with 41 points over Andrew Price (23) 40. Andrew combined with Wally Shiel (23) to score 50 points in the 4BBB to win from Ray Hawkins (23) and Mick Strong (23) who scored 47. NTP at the 5th went to Geoff Hilder (490cm) and at the 17th to Rick Cohen (428cm) Balls went to 35 OCB.
SATURDAY 26th May was a Medley Single Stableford sponsored by Express Glass. It was a perfect day with sunshine and no wind. The winner of the Single Stableford was our Club Matchplay Champion, Rob Thompson (5) who scored 42 points. Yvonne Murray (24) came second with 40, and Ian Robinson (7) claimed bronze with 39.
The Nearest-to-Pin winner on the second (sponsor: Blue Mountains Plantation Shutters & Cabinet Making) was J. Duke (331cm) On the 5th (Office Choice Blue Mountains) was Jonathan Van Veen (875cm). On the 7th (Paul & Gabrielle Loneragan) was Rob Thompson (64cm). On the 13th (Blue Mountains Escapes) was Ossie Antaw (104cm). On the 14th, Andrew Lawson, distance unknown. The On Ben Cameron's 17th hole, Geoff Hilder won with a shot 216cm from the hole.
Sunday 27th May was our annual event that thanks very important people, the Sponsors and Benefactors Day. This was a team Stableford Event where the best two scores per hole were recorded. The winners were Ron Daly, Robert Coffey, Ben Cameron and Blake Cameron with 94 points. Runners-up were Rod Tubbs, Kerry Wynne, Louise Aaron and Virginia Hurst with 92. Third, and just out of the prizes, were Mick Strong, Steve Rabone, Jean Simpson and Barry Simpson. The best Stableford scores were those of Robert Coffey (41 points), Andrew lawson (40) and Kerry Wynne(40). The excellent prizes were chocolates donated by the Blue Mountains Chocolate Company that runs an also excellent tea/coffee house at 176 Lurline St Katoomba.
