On Fridays our 9-hole Single Stableford Comp that runs all day is getting bigger and bigger. This comp is a winner-takes-all with an entrance fee of $5 (plus green fees which are $0 for members). To play, all you need is a marker. Our Pro-Shop can organise you into a game.

BLACKHEATH WOMEN

Thursday 2nd August was the GNSW Medal, a Stroke round sponsored by the Club. Ro Perry (24) recorded nett 67 to win over T. Verway (45) with 67. The Women’s Nearest-the Pin on the 7th was won by Di Landsberg while the Blackheath Vegie patch-sponsored 13th was won by Ro. Balls went to 78 and included Ros Starkey, Di, Yvonne Murray, Jeanette Hawkins, Di Pease, Sandra Draper, Karen Tolhurst and Virginia Hurst. Virginia also won the putting competition.

Saturday 4th July was a Single Stableford sponsored by Kerry Wynne. Jean Simpson (25) scored 38 points to fend off a fast-finishing Carrie Soady (23) 35 (in a cart). Karen Wood won the 13th Vegie Patch NTO and Jenny Slatyer from Killara won the 17th. Balls went to 30 OCB (Jean, Carrie, Marilyn, Sandra, J. Crighton, C. Brown, Di Pease, Louise Stevenson, Joan Aitken and Sue Tonkin.

 

BLACKHEATH MEN

Wednesday 1st August was our usual Tee Single Stableford and 2BBB. The Singles winner was Don Griffiths (24) with 41 points. Peter Messer (17) came second with 39. Matthew Broug (11) and John Bromhead (8) claimed the 2BBB win with 45 points by 1 point over Jack Walden (+1) and Michael Mole (12). Balls went to 34 OCB. Nearest the Pins were won by Paul Rowe at the 2nd (82cm) and Karl Munchow at the 17th (240cm).

Saturday 5th August was our Monthly Medal (Stroke) held with a White Course Single Stableford. Frank Horacek sponsored. Jon Still (21, 65) won the Monthly Medal with Peter Kailofer (25, 68) running-up. Jack Walden (+1, 68) won the scratch award, while Murray Mehrtens (23, 38) won the Single Stableford. Balls went to nett 72 or 36 points. The Nearest-the-Pin winner on the second (sponsor: Blue Mountains Plantation Shutters & Cabinet Making) was Roger Saxton (59cm). On the 5th (Office Choice/LEADING EDGE COMPUTERS Blue Mountains) was John Armstrong from Wentworth Falls. Not to be outdone, another Wenty player, Andrew Loftus, won the 7th (SiLLYMiLLY Kid’s Clothing) with a shot to 220cm. On the 13th Jack Walden (Blue Mountains Escapes) got to 194cm. On the 14th it was Geoff Pails (413cm) and on the 17th, Ben Cameron’s hole, Brendon Van Veen hit it to 162 cm.
