BLACKHEATH LADIES

Thursday 14th June was a Stroke round that was for a Club Medal, GNSW Round 4 and the Roy Smith Medal Round 6.  Rebecca Brown (43) won with nett 70 from Etsuko Saxton (43) 72. Balls went to 79, and that included Rebecca and Etsuko, Barbara Wall, Carrie Soady, Di Landsberg, Roz Starkey, Di Pease, Karen Tolhurst, Jennifer Wilde and Jeanette Hawkins. The 17th hole NTP was won by Carrie.

On Saturday 16th June there was no play.

BLACKHEATH MEN

Wednesday 13th June was our usual Single Stableford and 2BBBTiger Tee Single Stableford and 4BBB for prizemoney exceeding $200! The weather was cold but dry. The Singles winner was Geoff Hilder (22) with 41 points over William Turner (15, 40). Wally Shiel (23) and Michael Mole (12) combined well to score 44 points in the 2BBB to pip Geoff Hilder and Jim Walsh (17) by a point. Balls went to 33 points OCB. Nearest-the-Pin winners were efficiently combined since Michael Mole was closest on both the 2nd (380cm) and 17th (305cm).

Saturday 16th June was the Captain’s vs President’s Day. We ran a Single Stableford alongside the event, which was a 2-man aggregate matchplay. Over the past 5 years the Captain’s Team has won with the Captain losing his matchplay game to the President. On Saturday, same-same. The President relied heavily on a hot partner, Phill Paull, for his individual team victory. Phil (18, 38), won the Single Stableford event. The Captain’s team was cunningly chosen for its grit and determination in cold, windy weather, so, consequently, the President’s team was easily outmanoeuvred and outgunned. Runner-up in the Single Stableford was Ben Cameron (10) 33 OCB over sponsor Joe Landsberg (10). Balls went to 29 points, showing how difficult the weather conditions were. The Nearest-the-Pin winner on the second (sponsor: Blue Mountains Plantation Shutters & Cabinet Making) was Ben Cameron (400cm). On the 5th (Office Choice Blue Mountains) was Ken Scully (483cm). On the 7th (Paul & Gabrielle Loneragan’s hole) Ian Foulsham’s shot to 554cm was close enough. On the 13th (Blue Mountains Escapes), Mark Allen’s 11 metre effort was also good enough. Joe Landsberg (608cm) won the 14th, and on Ben Cameron's 17th hole, Dave Robertson won with a shot 177cm from the pin.
