The Royal National Park Adventure Race will take place on Saturday 4th June 2022.

An adventure race is like a triathlon that’s gone off-road. Teams of two navigate their way between checkpoints and transition between trail running, mountain biking and kayaking to reach the finish line in the fastest time possible.

The course is kept secret until the morning of the event; at registration the teams are given the all-important map showing the various check points and the race begins! Competitors set off into the lush bushland, making the most of the stunning forest trails and natural playground of our wonderful Sydney backyard.

There are various race options to suit all abilities and ages.  The novice course is ideal for those new to the sport, its short, fast, and fun with approximately 5-15km of mountain biking, 3-5 km of trial running and 1-2 km of kayaking.
The classic course, for those who are keen for a longer and more intense day of racing will challenge competitors with 15-20km of mountain biking, 5-10km of trail running and 2-4 km of kayaking.

The races can last from 4-6 hours and will start and finish at Reids Flat, Audley. Kayaks are provided on race day and those who do not own a mountain bike can hire one.

Not many can say they bagged such an adventurous Saturday in Sydney as these competitors.

“I’ve never done an adventure race before, I signed up with my partner as we were both up for a challenge and something different. The Royal National Park is such an amazing spot for the race. -Sam, Competitor from 2021.

“This is really exciting for me because its my first Adventure Race with my nephew. I’m nervous but excited to race with him through the Royal National Park.”- Jen, Competitor from 2021.
