Works will commence on the bitumen reseal of four rural roads within the Lithgow Local Government Area during the month of September.

As part of Lithgow City Council’s 2018/19 capital works program, a number of roads across the Local Government Area have been identified as requiring remedial work. As part of this program, roads subject to reconstruction this month are:

Bitumen Reseals:

  • Burnett Street, Wallerawang;
  • Elizabeth Street, Wallerawang;
  • James Parade Lane, Wallerawang;
  • Bathurst Street, Wallerawang;
  • Sawyers Road, Lidsdale;
  • Neubeck Street, Lidsdale; and
  • Skelly Road, Lidsdale.

These roads require immediate restoration in order to ensure the safety of road users and better serve the community. As such, within the month of September crews and machinery will be on site to remediate and seal sections of these roads, weather permitting.

Works will include the removal of the existing seal, rehabilitation and reconstruction of the underlying pavement and reseal of the affected areas. It is expected that the scheduled improvements will serve to increase both driver safety and comfort and greatly reduce maintenance expenditure in these areas.

Residents are urged to note that traffic conditions may change in these areas. Please exhibit caution and patience while travelling through the area.
