Roads Re-Sealing – September 2017
As part of Lithgow City Council’s 2017/18 capital works program, a number of roads across the Local Government Area have been identified as requiring remedial work. As part of this program, roads subject to reconstruction this month are:
- Kanimbla Drive, Kanimbla
- Rydal Hampton Road, Rydal
- McKanes Falls Road, Hartley
- Coxs River Road, Little Hartley
These roads require immediate restoration in order to ensure the safety of road users and better serve the community. As such, commencing next week crews and machinery will be on site to remediate and seal sections of these roads, weather permitting.
Works will include the removal of the existing seal, rehabilitation and reconstruction of the underlying pavement and reseal of the affected areas. It is expected that the scheduled improvements will serve to increase both driver safety and comfort and greatly reduce maintenance expenditure in these areas.
In addition, preparation works will commence this month on sections of Glen Alice Road, Bogee and Curly Dick Road, Meadow Flat. Once complete, bitumen sealing works will occur later this calendar year.
Residents are urged to note that traffic conditions may change in these areas. Please exhibit caution and patience while travelling through the area.
