Stuart Ayres MP, Member for Penrith today announced that residents have the opportunity to learn about consumer rights and trader responsibilities next week when NSW Fair Trading is in the region.

Stuart Ayres said two free information sessions will be held on Wednesday 14 November, focussed on property management for real estate agents and self-managed landlords.

“Fair Trading offering valuable seminars to help businesses and individuals in the property industry comply with the law, and ensure they are aware of their responsibilities to clients,” Mr Ayres said.

“Self-managing landlords can attend a session to discuss residential tenancies, rental bonds, dispute resolution and how the recently passed laws will impact their role.”

The visit gives Fair Trading the opportunity to connect with locals, provide vital education to consumers and businesses, and explain how the changes to legislation will change the industry.

“There’s no doubt Fair Trading's event will prove to be successful for individuals and businesses, while helping to raise awareness among traders about their responsibilities under the State’s legislation," Mr Ayres said.

Penrith locals are encouraged to register their attendance prior to the event, as spaces are limited.

For more information about these information seminars or to register for an event, please visit www.fairtrading.nsw.gov.au or phone 13 32 20.
