New Sunday Art Workshops for Adults at Penrith Regional Gallery
Join artist Anthony Cahill for a series of drawing and painting workshops inspired by the Gallery’s Heritage Garden over 5 weeks of Art Workshops for Adults on the first and third Sunday of the month between 10am – 4pm.
Anthony Cahill is a Sydney-based artist whose practice moves easily between mediums, technically adept in everything from watercolour and oils to charcoal. Anthony will guide participants through each art-making journey for a different look at drawing and painting, using different mediums and building skills from a variety of inspirations including the Gallery’s fabulous garden and one’s own personal experiences.
Drawing materials will be required for Weeks 1 and 3 - graphite pencils, charcoal and coloured pencils, and painting materials will be required for Weeks 2 and 4. This can include a selection of acrylic or oil paints, a painting surface such as canvas or paper, and an apron if you wish to protect clothing. For week 5, it’s Artists Choice. Artists are more than welcome to bring in any other materials that may not be on the list – we encourage all drawing and painting mediums, especially if you have a favourite!
Details on each session below:
Week 1: 20 October - Explore the Garden, macro to micro, a world of possibilities
Week 2: 3 November - Develop painting/s from sketches
Week 3: 17 November - Finding a personal vision via the Garden
