Nepean Blue Mountains Service Providers Share in $159 Million Health Grants Program
The Penrith Women’s Health Centre, which is receiving $532,600 and Blue Mountains Women’s Health Centre, which is receiving $505,200, are just two of more than 320 NGOs from across the state that are sharing in $159 million in funding under the program.
Both NGOs deliver clinical, counselling and education support services across the Nepean Blue Mountains region.
Stuart Ayres said the NGOs help provide important services for the Nepean Blue Mountains community.
“We are proud to continue partnering with NGOs to reach into disadvantaged, vulnerable and hard to reach populations,” Stuart Ayres said.
“Penrith Women’s Health Centre and Blue Mountains Women’s Health Centre provide essential services supporting vulnerable woman in our community.
“The Government’s partnership with these organisations helps ensure people can access care close to home.”
Other NGOs receiving funding through the grants program to provide services in Nepean Blue Mountains, as well as across the State include:
- ACON Health Limited - $11.1 million to deliver HIV prevention and health promotion.
- Diabetes NSW - $2.7 million to provide free syringes and pen needles to people with diabetes.
- Life Education NSW - $2.1 million to undertake a drug education program in NSW schools.
Stuart Ayres said the program helps deliver important community-based services across the State.
“The NSW Government is committed to providing quality services right across NSW, and we recognise the value in partnering with NGOs to extend our reach,” he said.
