Monkey Shoulder Brings Australia’s Largest Cocktail Mixer to the Blue Mountains
Monkey Shoulder, the world-famous premium whisky that's made for mixing, is preparing to launch a Christmas cheer mission across NSW and ACT to celebrate the first 12 days of the festive season. Launching on 1st December, the door-to-door Christmas cocktail delivery service, will run in partnership with venues that were hit hard by the tumultuous events of 2020.
Cocktail connoisseurs should look out for the Monkey Mixer - Australia's Largest Cocktail Mixer Truck - as it makes its way from Canberra to Bateman's Bay, Port Macquarie and Blue Mountains. The Mixer will deliver Christmas cocktails in exchange for a small donation to the local partner venues, which have been adversely affected by the bushfires and COVID-19 having impacted their respective communities.
From the beaches to the 'burbs, Monkey Shoulder will deliver a special 'Christmas Cocktail Menu' which includes:
- SALTED CARAMEL ESPRESSO MARTINI
Monkey Shoulder with Salted Caramel, Espresso and Coffee Liqueur
- GINGERBREAD OLD FASHIONED
Monkey Shoulder, Gingerbread and Orange Bitters
- CHRISTMAS PUDDING ROB ROY
Monkey Shoulder with Sweet Vermouth and Christmas Pudding Bitters
As a mistle-toast to the holiday season, the Monkey Mixer is dressed from head-to-toe in unmissable Christmas decorations and made its first stop at Canberra's popular cocktail bar, Caribou.
The Mixer travelled from ACT to NSW, spreading cheer interstate, taking its delicious menu of Christmas cocktails to bring festive spirit to one of the worst affected areas in the Australian bushfires at the start of the year, Bateman's Bay. Joining forces with JJ's At The Marina, donations from those hoping to receive a Christmas tipple, will go back into supporting this venue.
Jacob Crooke, Owner, JJ's At The Marina, said: "The situation in 2020 hurt every business in this town and the whole South Coast. Bateman's Bay was battered by both the bushfires at the start of the year and then the lack of tourism due to COVID-19, which almost completely destroyed the hospitality industry in this area. We've been banding together as a community to come up with plans and positive thinking to try and get us back on our feet, but this help from Monkey Shoulder is more than we could have dreamed of. We are so pleased to be finally ending this year on a high."
From 7th - 9th December, Monkey Shoulder made its way further North-East to service Port Macquarie. Deeply affected by the Black Summer bushfires, the Blue Water Bar & Restaurant received a helping hand from the mixing truck to deliver special cocktails for those in the surrounding areas.
To finish up, Monkey Shoulder will travel to the Blue Mountains - an area where the NSW bushfires burnt 20% of its World Heritage Area. To help lift community spirit, Monkey Shoulder will round off its festive community tour, partnering with The Bunker Bar & Café Leura, to serve up its Christmas menu.
The tour doesn't stop at cocktails. Throughout the month of December, Monkey Shoulder will also be matching up to $1,000 of monetary donations to each partner venue.
Monkey Shoulder Brand Ambassador, Lucille Rose, who has crafted the special menu and is leading the Monkey Mixer around NSW and ACT, said: "At Monkey Shoulder, we love to mix and experiment with our whisky, so we thought we'd Christmas-ify our Monkey Mixer, providing locals with a little Christmas cheer following a difficult year. We've got great-tasting cocktails aplenty and a service to remember. After all, it's not every day you get a super-sized cocktail mixer on your doorstep, dressed as Santa Claus!"
"As a family-run business, William Grant & Sons (which owns Monkey Shoulder) is committed to supporting local businesses, so it was important to us to keep the hospitality scene alive in areas that can sometimes be overlooked."
Head to the Bunker Bar & Cafe to find out more and make a donation to support your community.
