Meet a Low Tox Living Advocate at Blue Mountains Library
Alexx – an activist and educator who has featured in TV talk shows, magazines and on ABC Radio National – gently clears a path through the maze of mass-market ingredient cocktails in everyday products and shares the latest science and advice from experts.
Tackling everything from endocrine-disruptors in beauty products, to the challenge of going low plastic and cleaning without resorting to strong chemicals and harmful toxins, she reveals the most powerful things you can change day-to-day to improve your health and consider the planet.
After struggling with chronic tonsillitis, glandular fever, constant fatigue, weekly migraines, poly cystic ovarian syndrome and a host of auto-immune issues post-pregnancy, a day came when, walking down the aisle of a major supermarket to stock up on a few baby foods, Alexx started to question what she calls “the crazy degenerative health situation we find ourselves in today”.
“All of it across all spectrums: hyper kids, allergies, daily use of pain killers, constipation aids or those indigestion liquids, to mention a few examples,” she said.
After extensive research and study, Alexx’s practical advice and energy has lead her from humble beginnings, sharing a few recipes and articles, to her successful blog, plus eCourses, podcast, thriving social community on Facebook and Instagram and ultimately her new book, Low Tox Life.
She will also lead a practical demonstration of how to make natural, everyday items for use around the home such as Natural Air Freshener, Low-Tox Dry Shampoo and Coffee Body Scrub.
The talk starts at 2pm at Katoomba Library.
