Mayor and Deputy Mayor Continue to Advance Lithgow and Regional Issues
“We had a very productive discussion with the Hon Jodi McKay Shadow Minister for Transport, MP Trish Doyle, the local member for the Blue Mountains, MLC Robert Brown and MP Philip Donato member for Orange on Transport and other issues common to Lithgow, the Blue Mountains and Regional NSW. All have indicated a willingness to visit Lithgow in the future to help raise the Lithgow community’s profile on these and other important issues,” said Mayor Stephen Lesslie.
Deputy Mayor Wayne McAndrew took the opportunity to again raise the issue surrounding the Springvale Mine and the necessity for a watching brief on the Angus Place and Clarence Collieries to ensure that the issues that caused concern to Centennial Coal are not resurrected in the future.
“The Mayor and I both agree that there is a necessity to lift Lithgow City’s profile with as many of NSW elected representatives as is possible and we will respond to any parliamentarian who is willing to engage with us on the issues that we see as common to regional NSW and Lithgow,” said Clr McAndrew.
