Mayfield Winter Festival 6 - 21 July
Here is what to expect from the Winter Festival where they will be opening the whole of the Hawkins private garden for the first time during Winter.
Moss Creek Garden
Mayfield Garden has become famous for our cool climate plants and gardens inspired by those found throughout the world.Tthe New Moss Creek Garden features the Wollemi pine, nicknamed the 'dinosaur tree' or 'living fossil.' Make sure to stop and admire this new beauty in the garden on your way to the Bluestone Chapel.
The Mayfield Maze
All kids want to have a go at the Mayfield Maze!
The English Box Hedge Maze is one of the largest in Australia - and it is still growing! The maze is 1.4km long and will be 1.8m tall (estimated by 2020). There are enough bricks in the foundation to build two 3-bedroom houses, and the base extends 1.8m below ground level. Come and explore the Maze during Winter Festival - getting to the centre is not guaranteed!
An adult must accompany all Mini Mayfielders under 16.
Garden Games
At Mayfield Garden, you can play any of our garden games 363 days a year - including croquet, giant chess, and bocce ball. Help yourself to the games, and enjoy!
Live Music on Weekends
Refuel in Mayfield Cafe then sit by the fire in the garden centre and enjoy live music from local performers from 11.30am - 2.30pm on weekends.
The Hop-On-Hop-Off Bus
For the first time during a Winter Festival we will have a complimentary bus running on weekends. The minibus travels from the bottom of the garden up to the top.
Winter Fest Feast (every weekend of the festival)
Book in for the Winter Fest Feast. Your ticket gets you access to the garden and a paddock to plate style feast in our nursery gallery. The Winter Fest Feast is a pre booked event running on Saturday 6 & Sunday 7 July, Saturday 13 & Sunday 14 July and Saturday 20 & Sunday 21 July.
