Fashion, frippery and fun will be on the menu when the original Blue Mountains party palace hosts the annual regional food and wine showcase as part of the Roaring 20s Festival on Saturday, February 24.

Dressed in their most elegant 1920s finery, festival goers, fashionistas and foodies will graze from shared platters under the magnificent vaulted ceiling of the Hydro Majestic Hotel’s Majestic Ballroom on the finest fare of the region prepared by the Hydro Majestic kitchen team as well as other exceptional local producers.

The banquet will begin with a shared feast of antipasto from Ambermere Restaurant.

The Hydro Majestic kitchen team will present a main course feast of pork and rabbit rillettes with toasted brioche and hand-churned butter from sister property Parklands Country Gardens & Lodges; poached ocean trout, lemon and caper dressing; Beef Wellington, mushroom duxelle, horseradish crème fraiche with asparagus, beans, and snow peas, EVOO and Pear, melon, radish, roquette salad with goats cheese dressing.

A selection of cheeses from The Carrington Cellars & Deli will follow and an indulgent dessert from Josophan’s Fine Chocolates will finish the meal.

Live entertainment and dancing is sure to bedazzle, and a fashion parade of exquisite 1920s clothing will add an extra course to the long lunch menu. Prizes will also be up for grabs for best dressed lady, man, couples and hats.

The upmarket repast will be held after the Charleston for Charity community dance event in front of the Hydro Majestic Pavilion at 11am. (Go to The Hydro Majestic website to register)

Hydro Majestic guest services manager Meagan Iervasi said: "We are delighted to share our table with so many chefs and producers offering outstanding fresh, seasonal food and the unique flavours of the Greater Blue Mountains and NSW Central West.

"We invite guests to fully embrace the Roaring 20s theme by showing off their elegant vintage costumes at the biggest show off of them all – Mark Foy’s splendiferous 'palace in the wilderness', the Hydro Majestic Hotel."

Guests are encouraged to stay on for the Gangster Casino Charity Night, then overnight so they can explore the Blue Mountains further.

Other Roaring 20s Festival activities at the Hydro Majestic Hotel will include themed high teas in the Wintergarden Restaurant and history tours of the world-famous hotel.

One-hour sightseeing tours of art deco landmarks with Katoomba and Leura in 1929 Cadillac LaSalle cars will be conducted by Blue Mountains Vintage Cadillacs. Cost: $59pp. Bookings: info@bluemountainslimo.com.au.

The Hydro Express steam train will also leave Central station at 9am on Sunday, February 25, arriving at Medlow Bath at approximately 11am, when passengers can alight and indulge in high tea at the hotel. The train will run between Glenbrook and Medlow Bath throughout the day before returning to Central at 3pm. Details: NSW Rail Museum website soon.
