Main Street footpath next stage of renewal commenced by Lithgow City Council
“The safety of our residents is always a high priority to this Council,” said Lithgow City Council’s Mayor, Councillor Cassandra Coleman. “Works on the north side of Main Street are now complete, on time and in budget. The Council has this week commenced the removal of the old kerbs outside the Grand Central Hotel.”
The next phase of this project is split into 30 metre stages so that Council can manage and minimise the impacts to businesses. Each stage will take two weeks, and it is anticipated that this project will be delivered by the end of this year, weather permitting.
“The message we have received loud and clear from residents and business owners, is that this side of main street is a priority,” said Mayor Coleman. “Council is committed to consultation with the community about this project, including their vision for the future of Main Street”
“The works completed to date look amazing and I’m excited to see the finished product delivered to our community!”
