Live'n'Local After the Fires at Gang Gang Gallery
Saturday the 25th of July was a smash hit at Lithgow’s Gang Gang Gallery with a small audience of locals gathering to enjoy both the art works on display and the amazing talent of local performers.
As well as streaming to a live audience of over 1,000 people, artists shared some of their stories about how the recent bushfires impacted on them personally and on their communities.
“Recovering from the recent bushfires is a long process,” said Lithgow City Council Mayor Ray Thompson. “These Live ’n’ local events have been a fantastic way to bring the community together.”
While there is much work still to be done in rebuilding the lives of those affected by the bushfires, the Live ‘n’ Local project is designed to bring the community back together to celebrate what is great about our communities and begin the process of healing and rebuilding together.
The series will conclude with our final live and streamed performance on Saturday August 1st at the Black Gold Motel, 121 Main Street Wallerawang. The event will feature local musicians, Julian Macphee, Cat Forrest, Braden Coleman and other surprise artists. While the Crib Room restaurant is already fully booked for this event, there will be other select venues around town who will turn on the live stream for their patrons. Alternatively you could gather a couple of mates and have a live stream in your lounge.
