There's nothing like coming home to the fragrance of a real Christmas tree in your own home.

Childhood memories instantly come flooding back of family and friends joining together to celebrate the Christmas season.

This year, the Winmalee Lions Club will once again be helping families create new memories, and by purchasing a Lions Christmas tree you will be helping our local community.

With a little care you can keep your real Christmas tree fresh and green right through to January 6 - the twelfth day of Christmas, when it's time to take it down. Enjoy the fragrance of a real tree this Christmas and avoid the storage problem of finding a spot to store that large plastic tree!

It's easy to dispose of your natural tree once Christmas is over by cutting it up and putting it in your green bin, or by booking a green bulk waste collection - this way your tree will be mulched and composted. Planet Ark advise that if your tree is grown locally and mulched or composted after use it's actually carbon neutral, and buying a real tree encourages land that would otherwise be used for housing or farming to be used for growing trees, year after year. Just don't send them to landfill, make sure you mulch and compost.

Take the whole family along and enjoy a family day out picking your tree and know that the money raised is going to a good cause - your Lions Club - as well as supporting local Australian Christmas tree farmers.

All enquiries if applicable to Club Secretary John Jennings 4739 2808 or.Mobile 0425 350 430.
