Lithgow City Council, in collaboration with the National Bushfire recovery agency continues to present a season of Live'n'Local community live music events.

On Saturday 18th July a small audience gathered at the iconic Foundations at Portland. The audience braved the cold and were rewarded with performances by amazing local artists including Erin Cobcroft, Casey McFarlane, The Stoney Broke Duo featuring Glenda Phipps and Bob Sutor and the 80’s cover band Glam Jam featuring Snowy, Dave, Chris and Dunc.

As well as streaming to a live audience of over 1,000 people, artists shared some of their stories about how the recent bushfires impacted on them personally and on their communities.

“Recovering from the recent bushfires is a long process,” said Lithgow City Council Mayor Ray Thompson.  “These Live ’n’ local events have been a fantastic way to bring the community together.”

While there is much work still to be done in rebuilding the lives of those affected by the bushfires, the Live ‘n’ Local project is designed to bring the community back together to celebrate what is great about our communities and begin the process of healing and rebuilding together.

The series continues this week on Saturday 25 July with a live stream from Lithgow’s own contemporary Art space the Gang Gang Gallery at 206 Main St Lithgow. This is an up market black tie evening event, so let’s dress to impress. Enjoy the acoustic tunes, while admiring the beautiful art on display. The live stream will start at 6:00pm. Due to social distancing restrictions the venue capacity is 20 people only. Please make sure you arrive early as this event will only allow the first 20 people entry into the venue.

For further information contact Council's Community Development officer Ali Kim on 6354 9999 or Centwest Entertainment on 0417 464164.
