Lithgow to Hold Workshop to Help Young People Land That Interview!
Future Finders will be hosting two workshops in the school holidays aimed at helping young people aged 15 – 25 years old get the skills to confidently apply and interview for jobs. The first workshop will be held on the 2nd of October from 10am – 3pm at the Lithgow Library and will be a practical session aimed at drawing out achievements and skills that could be highlighted on a resume, as well as how to submit a cracking online application that will get the employer's attention. Participants will leave having completed their resume as well as gained an understanding of how to research potential employers and apply that knowledge to their skillset and application.
“Even if you haven’t had a job before, there are always skills and attributes you can highlight to a potential employer,” said Community Development Officer Kristy Lenon. “The trick is how to identify and promote them.”
The second session will be held on the 3rd of October at Lithgow Library from 10am – 3pm and will look at how to prepare for an interview, including what to wear and methods of responding to questions.
Lunch and a certificate of attendance will be provided. Numbers for both workshops are limited.
