Lithgow Pump Track Concept Design on Exhibition
In late 2020 Council engaged Common Ground Trails, one of Australia’s foremost pump track designers and construction companies to design and construct the Lithgow Pump Track. The pump track will be located immediately below and to the north of the Adventure Playground footprint.
A pump track is a circuit of rollers, banked turns and features designed to be ridden by riders "pumping" - generating momentum by up and down body
movements, instead of pedalling or pushing. Pump tracks are a worldwide phenomenon although only recently arriving in Australia.
The concept design is for a track with about 700 sqm of riding surface that is graded for beginner, intermediate and advanced riders. The relatively steep topography of the site has allowed for an exciting and challenging track that will please and challenge riders of all skill levels.
Council is seeking comment and suggestions from the public on the concept design. Comments should be sent to Council by 15 March 2021 by email.
The concept designs are displayed on Council’s website here, and at Lithgow, Wallerawang and Portland Libraries.
