Lithgow Ability Awards Nominations Open
“The launch of the awards is exciting as they will showcase the many outstanding achievements of individuals and organisations in the Lithgow region that are making positive contributions towards social inclusion,” said Lithgow City Council Mayor, Clr Stephen Lesslie.
The awards were initiated through engagement between local community workers and Council who wanted to implement recommendations of Council’s Disability Inclusion Action Plan through highlighting the achievements of community members, businesses and organisations in creating an inclusive Lithgow.
The awards ceremony will be held during Social Inclusion week in November and provides an opportunity to celebrate those in our community who are providing inspiration, showing leadership and enhancing the lives of people with disability.
“In order for the awards to be a success we need nominations. There are twelve award categories, so if you know someone who is deserving of a Lithgow Ability Award I urge you to nominate them,” continued Lithgow City Mayor, Clr Stephen Lesslie.
Nominations are now open for the Lithgow Ability Awards. The awards showcase the work being done to ensure that Lithgow is an inclusive community.
Nominations close 3rd October.
Nomination forms can be collected from Council’s front counter, any of the libraries or downloaded from the website.
