Ever wished there was a children's book out there that featured the Blue Mountains? Well, there soon will be, but it needs your support!

Written by local author Jodie McLeod and illustrated by local artist Eloise Short, Leonard the Lyrebird is an entertaining and visually stunning children’s book that lets you share a little bit of the Blue Mountains with the children in your life.

Whether you live in the Blue Mountains, you’ve visited before or you just love good Australian bush animal stories – Leonard the Lyrebird is the perfect book for the little ones in your life.

"Featuring the enchanting landscapes of the Blue Mountains, and one of its most magical residents, the artful story of Leonard the Lyrebird is like a precious slice of the Blue Mountains itself." - Award-winning Blue Mountains children's book author and illustrator, Tohby Riddle

You can play a part in bringing Leonard the Lyrebird to life by pledging to the crowdfunding campaign! Rewards start from just $25 and range from signed copies of the book to original artworks and prints, plus an invite to the family-friendly book launch in late 2018.

By making a pledge to this campaign, you'll not only be helping children everywhere connect with this incredible part of Australia, but you'll also be helping them discover and delight in the joy of reading.

We urge all parents, grandparents, aunties, uncles, godparents, friends of parents and friends of people who are thinking of becoming parents – who have any kind of connection with the Blue Mountains in Australia – to make a pledge to this locally created project. Not only will this book be a souvenir of the place you visited or of the place in which you live – it will awaken your little one’s wonder at the world around them, and will take a seat alongside some of your favourite Australian bush animal stories.
