The BMACC Specialist Kitten Fostering Workshop provides hands-on guidance for people providing temporary care for abandoned kittens
With the annual kitten season now underway - when many cats give birth to litters of kittens - Blue Mountains Animal Care Centre (BMACC) is calling on compassionate community members to help care for vulnerable kittens.

BMACC is hosting a Specialist Kitten Fostering Workshop on Saturday, 15 November, from 12pm to 4pm, to train new volunteers in how to care for orphan kittens under six weeks old.

The workshop provides hands-on guidance for people who can open their homes and hearts to kittens needing temporary care until they’re ready for adoption.

Blue Mountains Mayor Mark Greenhill said local foster carers play a vital role in rehoming hundreds of young animals each year.

“Every kitten season, our staff and volunteers go above and beyond to care for animals in need,” Cr Greenhill said.

“But we simply can’t do it without our foster carers. These are wonderful community members who give their time, care, and compassion to help animals grow healthy and strong in a safe home environment.

“If you’ve ever thought about fostering, now is the perfect time to get involved. You don’t need any special skills, just patience, love and a willingness to help.”

Participants must be over 18 and have time and space to care for kittens in their home.

All training and support is provided by BMACC’s experienced animal care team.

Bookings are essential so call (02) 4780 5791 or email  to secure your place.
