Helicopters will be operating from Summerhayes Park, Hawkesbury Road, Winmalee as part of the workshop.
Members of the Australasian Fire & Emergency Service Authorities Council, as part of the AFAC17 Conference, will be visiting the Blue Mountains on 7 September 2017.

This field trip to the Blue Mountains has been arranged for members from various International and Australian firefighting authorities to gain an appreciation of the risks and complex challenges faced by combat agencies and this community.  Attendees will discuss managing bushfires in one of the most bushfire prone areas in the world and will view the area during the visit.

Helicopters will be operating from Summerhayes Park, Hawkesbury Road, Winmalee as part of the workshop.

“The Blue Mountains area poses a challenge for all firefighting agencies.  The workshop allows us to share information, strategies and viewpoints so all agencies can strengthen their knowledge,” Superintendent David Jones said.

Further information can be obtained from the Blue Mountains District Office – (02) 4784 7444.
