Helping To Build an Inclusive and Equitable Lithgow

Lithgow City Council is calling for expressions of interest from community members interested in promoting, supporting and advocating for inclusiveness and equity within our region by participating in the soon to be formed Women’s Advisory Committee.

Following a recent Council resolution to establish a Women’s Advisory Section 355 Committee, Council is asking interested members of the community to submit an expression of interest to join. Council is looking for people who are interested in progressing important women’s issues across all areas of our community such as employment, leadership and participation, health, safety, and drought.

It is likely that there will be up to 15 volunteer positions available, with up to 10 meetings held throughout the year. Members will be requested to discuss the outcomes of the meetings with family, friends and colleagues to gain a broader concept of community needs and priorities.

The draft Terms of Reference of the Women’s Advisory Committee and expression of interest form can be found in the Public Notices section of Council’s website. Prior to applying to join the committee it is requested that prospective members review the draft Terms of Reference and provide their agreement “in principle”.

Expressions of interest will be received up until 4.30pm on Thursday 21 February via Council’s website.

If you would like to contribute to developing positive strategies which will ensure opportunities for women in the Lithgow region, please register your interest on the council website.
