Help us improve disability inclusion in the Blue Mountains

By Blue Mountains City Council
Posted: 9 Apr 2022
Blue Mountains City Council is creating its next Disability Inclusion Action Plan, or ‘DIAP’, and invites those living with a disability to have their say.

Every local Council has a DIAP, a report on its goals to improve disability inclusion in the local community.

The plan is reviewed every four years and Council has contracted Insight Consulting Australia to manage community consultations and create the new plan, which will be in place from 2022 until 2026.

Insight Consulting is currently seeking input from people with a disability on living in the Blue Mountains, and how to best improve disability inclusion.

“This is an important plan to guide how we can help those in our community with a disability, now and in the future,” Mayor, Cr Mark Greenhill, said.

“I urge anyone in the Blue Mountains living with a disability to give their feedback and let us know the ways we can improve disability inclusion.”

Provide confidential feedback via our survey until Thursday, 14 April by going to: here

If you have any trouble accessing or using the survey, please contact Monica at Insight Consulting (phone 0404 661 851) to complete the survey by phone.

In addition, Insight Consulting is working with a number of disability services and advocacy organisations to hold small stakeholder workshops.

A collaborative workshop was held in Katoomba in April, with stakeholders from across Council and the community. This brought together those involved in bringing the DIAP to life, and those impacted most by the actions in it.
