The Springwood CID Place Activation Program includes enhancements to public spaces and parks, youth engagement activities, and opportunities for business collaborations.
Council is inviting residents and local businesses to share their thoughts on the Springwood Town Centre through two newly launched surveys.

Council recently secured funding from the NSW Government for the Springwood Community Improvement District (CID) Place Activation Program.

The surveys aim to capture community ideas and priorities to guide the next stage of the project, which is designed to create a more vibrant, inclusive, and economically resilient town centre.

The first stage marked the project’s official launch, and Business Forum where local business representatives came together to discuss ideas including public space enhancements, as well as opportunities for public art and youth engagement.

Blue Mountains Mayor Mark Greenhill said the CID project represents a unique opportunity for locals to be part of something potentially of great benefit to the community.

“This project reflects the best of what can happen when local business and Council and come together with a shared vision,” said Cr Greenhill.

“Springwood already has a great town centre, and this project is about making it even more vibrant and inclusive. We’d love to hear from you on this project as we move forward.”

The Springwood CID Place Activation Program is the only one of its kind in the Blue Mountains, forming part of a broader NSW Government pilot program testing collaborative models to revitalise local centres.

The project includes enhancements to public spaces and parks, youth engagement activities, and opportunities for business collaborations.

As part of the initiative, regular Business Forum meetings are being held in Springwood, bringing together local entrepreneurs, Council representatives, and guest speakers to share insights, spark ideas, and co-create solutions for the town centre.

These forums are open to all community members, not just business owners, and provide a space to raise concerns, explore opportunities, and stay involved as the project progresses.

“This support will make a real difference on the ground,” Cr Greenhill said. “We encourage everyone to get involved and help shape Springwood’s future.”

Surveys close 29 September 2025. To complete the surveys, go to here
