Hazard Reduction Burns - Wentworth Falls/Katoomba
The burn will generate very large volumes of smoke over several days, so residents should take relevant precautions to minimise exposure.
See the hazard reduction page on the RFS website for more information.
All entry points to the National Park in the Narrow Neck Plateau and Jamison and Kedumba Valleys will be closed as of Monday 9th April. The burn will take place between Jamison Valley, Kedumba Valley and Narrow Neck plateau, an area covering approximately 3500ha. This area will remain closed until further notice.
Scenic World will remain open.
Walking trails in the Wild Dog Range area, west and south west of Narrow Neck plateau will remain open.
For further information on park closures see the NPWS website.
