Have Your Say on the Design for Blackheath Station Upgrade
“Transport for NSW is in the preliminary stages of investigating improvements to make Blackheath Station fully accessible for all customers,” Mr Mallard said.
“The upgrade aims to deliver a number of benefits that will make commuting easier. I encourage the community to get involved and contribute to the design and construction phases of the upgrade.”
The early concept designs are now available online and are open for feedback until 5pm, Sunday 20 October 2019.
Transport for NSW is hosting information sessions at Blackheath Community Markets, Blackheath Public School Hall on Sunday 6 October between 9am-1pm and at the Blackheath Community Centre, Bates Hall on Wednesday 16 October between 4.30pm-6.30pm.
Feedback can also be provided by emailing, calling the project information line on 1800 684 490 or by mail:

The key features proposed for the upgrade include three new lifts to the station entries and platforms, upgrades to the existing accessible parking spaces, kiss and ride bay and taxi zone, removal of the non-compliant pedestrian level crossing and improvements to CCTV, lighting and wayfinding, station footbridge and stairs and bicycle storage provisions.
The NSW Government announced the upgrade in March 2019 as part of the Transport Access Program, an initiative to deliver safe, modern and accessible public transport infrastructure across the state.
More than $2 billion has been committed to the Transport Access Program since 2011, with more than 470 projects either completed or currently underway across NSW.
