Golden Horizons Park in Hazelbrook the next to see new designs released
The designs are based on ideas and feedback gathered during an earlier round of consultation with the community, including families, schools, and local groups.
Blue Mountains Mayor Mark Greenhill said “Golden Horizons Park is a much-loved space in Hazelbrook, and we are excited to share the designs with the community.
“The first round of community consultation was designed to help understand the community’s priorities and help guide decisions, within the scope and available funding.
“These designs reflect what we learned in that consultation.
“It is important to remember that this is a grant-funded project, so each park has a fixed budget and a defined scope of what can and cannot be included.
“Council will be holding a consultation at Golden Horizons onSaturday 31 May from 11am to 2pm for anyone wishing to discuss the designs in person.
“We are grateful to the community for their involvement so far and look forward to their continued input.
The release follows the recent release of designs for Medlow Bath Park in Medlow Bath and Thomas Park in Blaxland, some of the 16 parks being upgraded over four years.
The parks chosen for the program have been identified as having playground equipment that has reached the end of its serviceable life.
While a playground may still look serviceable at first glance, many of its components may be reaching the end of their intended lifespan, and age, wear, and evolving safety standards mean it is no longer suitable for long-term use.
Residents are encouraged to review both designs and complete a short survey to let Council know which design they prefer.
The Golden Horizon Park designs are open for consultation until 16 June 2025.
The Neighbourhood Parks Program is funded by the NSW Government's Western Sydney Infrastructure Grants (WSIG) program.
