Lithgow, Portland and Wallerawang Libraries will soon be holding basic technology classes for seniors each Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday starting Tuesday 17 September 2019.

“Internet use and computer literacy are essential in our society. Our seniors are required to use it for banking, staying in touch with family and accessing government services such as Medicare. These classes will provide a gateway for seniors who feel overwhelmed by technology, “said Mayor Ray Thompson.

To provide senior members of the community with some insight into the requirements of our changing world, the Lithgow Library Learning Centre is hosting Telstra Tech Savvy Seniors classes on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday mornings over 13 weeks from 17 September until 5th December 2019 at Lithgow, Wallerawang and Portland libraries.

Classes include introduction to the internet and social media, using smart phones and online shopping and banking. To assist participants to become comfortable using the skills taught in the class, we request that you bring your own device. Bookings are essential.

For more information about the sessions available and to make a booking please contact the Lithgow Library on 6352 9100. You can also find the program on the library website or Facebook page.
