FREE Community Garden Workshops
Join Brian and the volunteer team of gardeners in the grounds of the Blackheath Catholic Church at 165 Wentworth Street for this exciting, hands on and informative workshop. The morning begins in the hall with a powerpoint presentation, followed by ‘How To’ sessions in the garden. The workshops will conclude with a pizza lunch in the garden using produce from the garden and our new pizza oven.
This Kitchen Garden started with the planting of nine fruit trees during the COVID lockdown in 2020 and has expanded to include other fruit trees, vegetable beds, berry plots, composting etc. Following up on last year’s successful workshops, we are again hosting these two workshops in the garden:
The first workshop "How to compost” commences at 10am and will be followed by a ‘cuppa' break. The second workshop "How to Worm Farm” will begin at 11.15 and conclude with a pizza lunch at 12.15
RSVP Brian on 0401 768 688 by Wednesday 5th March
If you would like to come and volunteer in the garden, gardening times are on Wednesdays and Saturdays 10am-12pm. Children accompanied by a parent or caregiver are welcome.
