Express, empower, get loud at Lithgow Youth Week 2024
Valley of Sound presented by Lithgow City Council and the Lithgow Young Changemakers brings together Lithgow’s Youth for a day of music and activities. The day commences with a BBQ at 12:00pm, setting the stage for an array of activities including a badge making station and Virtual Reality room. Local youth bands will be in the spotlight, with live music from 5pm. This year’s ensemble includes, Nameless, B.L.O.T, Acid Amora, Anteaters, Hope Held Hostage, Immortal Whitin.
Corin Shearston, the drummer from last year’s guest band, Trash Baby, says on the event, “The thrill of performing at Youth Week 2023 at the Union Theatre was unparalleled. The community-driven effort was truly inspiring, and the volunteers’ dedication contributed to the day’s resounding success.”
Planet Youth Lithgow have supported Young Changemakers to curate a diverse range of activities to encourage Lithgow’s youth to express themselves,showcase their talents, engage with peers, and celebrate their unique identity and culture. Local youth have been instrumental in organising this year’s Youth Week event, contributing to the planning, development, and management of activities.
