Evans Lookout upgrade - Project update
New signage and safety handrails have been installed, and good progress has been made on the new accessible pathway to the lookout. Over 6000 seedlings are being planted around the worksite, including 650 rescued from the site before the works began. The seedlings were cared for by volunteers from the Blue Mountains Wild Plant Rescue.
The ironstone features of the lookout have been preserved, and additional works to the lower terrace will now allow access to the whole lookout.
Due to delays with the supply of building materials for the new toilets and elevated pathway to the lookout, the works are anticipated to be completed by October. Once the toilets are installed, and the car park upgrade complete, the lookout will be reopened.
Visitors can still safely make their way around the work site to walk the Grand Canyon and Cliff Top walking tracks. When the lookout reopens, there will be more places for all to relax and enjoy the spectacular view into the Grose Valley.
More details on the planned upgrades can be found here
