Employment Lands Strategy to look at future opportunities in the Lithgow LGA
The Council is undertaking a comprehensive analysis of the existing economic conditions to identify opportunities to kickstart new or expanding business within our LGA.
The Council would like to hear from businesses in a planned survey about what is needed to achieve growth and development. An important consideration will be the state of the local land use planning and development framework.
Mayor Maree Statham commented “There is a lot of untapped potential for land use across this city. The survey is crucial for understanding this potential and how the Council can best work with landholders and business owners to make this area the first choice for businesses looking for land to develop.”
The survey seeks to understand more about our existing employment lands and local business land and infrastructure needs. This will inform future planning decisions to ensure there is the right type of land available, in the right places to support existing and new businesses. The survey asks questions such as does Lithgow have the right lands zoned for business and industry, and are those zones in the right location and is there the need more land to be zoned?
The Employment Lands Strategy is being prepared as part of an overall Growth Management Strategy to guide future planning and decision making over the coming decades. It is part of Council’s commitment to supporting the growth and diversity of the local economy, to ensure the local community has great places to work, visit and do business, now and into the future.
The Survey will run until Sunday 12 May 2024. To have your say visit Council’s website at here
