Acclaimed musician Jerrah Patston is returning to the Blue Mountains Theatre in August to perform his latest album, Abandoned Cricket Games, along with a selection of fan favourites from his career.

The much-loved local identity was awarded a grant from Council’s Blue Mountains City of the Arts Trust in 2024, helping to fund the production of Patston’s latest album, hailed as his best yet.

“We’re proud to support home-grown talent with our City of the Arts Trust grants,” Blue Mountains Mayor Mark Greenhill said. “These grants can make a significant difference to artists, sometimes sparking turning points in their career. This one helped an already highly accomplished musician to enhance the production of his third album, Abandoned Cricket Games.

“This concert marks the third time Jerrah Patston will perform at the Springwood Hub, having previously launched his first two albums - Going Places and Sounds Like Rain – to sell-out audiences here.

“I encourage music lovers to support our fabulous local musicians by attending the regular gigs at this world-class Blue Mountains venue.”

Patston started writing songs in 2016 when he began working at Club Weld at ACE (Arts & Cultural Exchange), a supported studio in Parramatta for artists with a disability and neurodiverse artists.

Since then, he has recorded at the Opera House, played live at numerous festivals, featured on 702 Mornings and ABC Television and has performed for the Governor-General Sam Mostyn.

Abandoned Cricket Games traverses vivid themes in tracks such as Construction's Going On which was inspired by the recent rebuild of Springwood Library.

Recorded over two days at MONA's Frying Pan Studios in Hobart through the ex-Abbey Road REDD.17 recording console (as used by The Beatles and Pink Floyd), the album reflects Patston’s signature whimsical style, quirky lyrics and beautiful harmonies.

Jerrah’s brother, singer-songwriter Manning Patston, will open the evening with his own warm acoustics and heartfelt melodies and Jerrah will be joined on stage by his long-time collaborator, accomplished bassist and producer Sam Worrad.

Jerrah Patston will launch Abandoned Cricket Games on Friday 15 August 2025, 7.30pm. Tickets $27-$32. For more information and tickets: here
