Death, Cycles and the Lines Between - Art Exhibition
An art exhibition that reflects on the metaphors of love and death is the focus of an exhibition at the Lithgow Library during April featuring works by Anna Carter, her first solo exhibition since 2013.
Anna Carter has a degree in fine arts where she majored in screen arts and sculpture and has won several awards, scholarships and residences. Anna is also an accomplished art facilitator, running programs and working with commercial and institutional facilities including exhibitions at Eskbank House and more recently working as an arts advisor at Lithgow’s Gang Gang Gallery.
Anna’s up and coming exhibition; Death, cycles and the lines between; a retrospect on fables, will be her first solo exhibition since 2013, after the death of her mother and closest friend. She once stated “production stops, the flow is broken and only time itself creates the flow once more”, when asked about the production of her work. Though most of her solo exhibitions are themed around the classic metaphors of love and death, her working technique of weaving stories from the waste of human consumption can be whimsical and clumsy, much liken to ‘innocents creating a conclusion’.
This free exhibition will be held throughout April at the Lithgow Library and will feature two pieces from a new series titled ‘All that glitters isn’t GOLD, a reflection on being fooled’.
